Biodiesel is made from either vegetable oils or animal fats which react with alcohol during a process known as esterification. The resulting biodiesel products are called Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) . which can be used in diesel engines, either standalone or as blend with petro diesel.

Biodiesel provides similar energy and power content to Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD) but has become a desirable alternative to fossil diesel over time as suppliers and users seek to reduce harmful emissions.
